Advocate DesksTerms of use
Advocate Desks is a free directory of information that is already published by courts, the police and other public bodies in India. Using the app means accepting what follows.
What this app is not
It is not legal advice, and nothing in it creates an advocate–client relationship. It is a faster route to information you could find yourself on official websites.
It is not an official product. Advocate Desks is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or acting for any court, the Delhi Police, any bar association, the e-Courts project, or any government body. Where an official name or link appears, it identifies the source of the information and nothing more.
Verify before you rely
Court information moves faster than any directory. A roster changes, a magistrate is transferred, a cause list is republished, a phone number is reassigned. Every record shows the source it came from and the date it was last checked — use them. For anything that affects a matter, a date, or a client, check the official source before you act.
Records with a stale check date are marked as such in the app. That mark is a warning, not decoration.
Accuracy, and reporting an error
The data is assembled carefully and it will still contain mistakes, because the official sources themselves sometimes disagree with each other. Where they do, the app says so rather than choosing a side.
If you find something wrong, use the report button on the record. It goes to a person, is checked against the official source, and is either applied or rejected. That queue is the main reason the data improves.
Liability
The app is provided as it is, free of charge, with no warranty of any kind. To the extent the law allows, Advocate Desks is not liable for any loss arising from the use of, or reliance on, anything in it — including a missed hearing, a wrong court room, or an unreachable phone number.
Acceptable use
- Do not use the app or its API to build a competing database, or to extract the data in bulk.
- Do not submit corrections that are false, abusive, or contain personal information about anyone.
- Do not attempt to disrupt the service or gain access to any part of it you have not been given.
Links to other sites
The app exists largely to link out to official websites. Those sites are not ours; their availability, content and terms are their own.
Changes
These terms may change; the date above changes with them.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of India, and the courts at Delhi have jurisdiction.
